We were established in January 2003, in response to a need for a child-friendly environment in which to interview children who have been the victims of abuse. One of our primary goals in to prevent the re-victimization of the child by reducing the number of interviews the child has to go through. Our center is funded by a contract from the Division of Family Services, and by donations from local individuals and organizations. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of individuals from law enforcement, children’s division, medical personnel, prosecuting attorneys, and juvenile officers. Coordinated efforts of this team provide victims and their families with legal, medical, and social services to deal with the trauma of abuse.
